The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned what it called “provocative racist calls” launched by the leaders of the so-called “Temple Mount Organizations” under the title “A Jewish Winter in the Temple Mount,” in a call for the mobilization of larger numbers of Jews to participate in the raids of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with what the Jewish festival of lights is called “Hanukkah,” in addition to their calls to light candles and perform Talmudic rituals in the mosque’s courtyards. Moreover, their “racist incitement calls to get rid of the Islamic Endowments Department and withdraw its powers, in an attempt to control it and to devote the temporal division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque until it is divided spatially.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Israeli government, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, fully and directly responsible for these calls, their dangers, and their results. Furthermore, it called on all parties to deal with the utmost seriousness with the calls of extremist settler organizations, the international community, and all countries to take serious action to stop them, especially the specialized international organizations, foremost of which is UNESCO.
