In a meeting with the new UN envoy for the Middle East peace process, Tor Winsland, Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr called on the UN to provide the necessary support to the Palestinian Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), so that it can continue to provide its services to the Palestinian refugees until their case is finally resolved in accordance with the international resolution (194). from his side, Winsland affirmed the United Nations support for efforts aimed at resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967,  with East Jerusalem as its capital.
