The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, sent three identical letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly on the critical situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, due to the escalating violations by Israel – the occupying Power – against the Palestinian people. He stressed the need for the Security Council to adhere to its duty stipulated in the Charter to maintain international peace and security, and urged the international community to take immediate action to support international law, protect the Palestinian people and stop the destruction of the two-state solution.
