UNSC issues resolution no. 469 on Palestine on this day
On this day in 1980, the UN Security Council issued Resolution No. (469), calling on the government of Israel (as the occupying power) to abolish its illegal measures of expelling the mayors of Hebron, Halhul, and the Hebron Sharia judge, as well as on the Israeli government to immediately return exiled Palestinian leaders so that they can resume the duties they were elected and appointed to carry out.
