UN human rights experts called for an investigation by the ICC into the attacks on the civilian populations and other grave violations of human rights. Experts noted that “the forced evictions of Palestinian families living in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan in occupied East Jerusalem as the spark that set off a full-blown war.” Experts said: “Due to the great disparity in power, the victims of this conflict are disproportionately Palestinians in Gaza, of whom more than 74,000 have been forcibly displaced, most of them women and children.” They called for “addressing the discrimination and apartheid suffered by the population of the occupied territories, as well as by many Palestinian citizens within Israel, including education, housing, freedom of movement, choice of residence and other areas.” Furthermore, the experts urged “the ICC to investigate acts by all parties that violate the Rome Statute, especially regarding war crimes, including the targeting of civilians, mass and indiscriminate violations of the right to adequate housing. In addition to investigate acts and policies that occurred during or contributed to the conflict and may amount to the crime of apartheid and crimes against humanity.”For further details click, here
