The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, send three letters to the UN Secretary-General, the President of Security Council for this month (China), and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, on the continuation of the Israeli occupation forces and settlers’ attacks against the Palestinian civilians and the holy places in Jerusalem, in additions to the ongoing arbitrary arrests of Palestinians, despite the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on May 21st. Mansour said that the crimes committed by Israel, as an occupying power, are considered war crimes, crimes against humanity, and will remain the key reason for destabilization. He further added that these crimes obstruct any chance for real ceasefire and calm. He stressed the importance of implementing the Security Council, General Assembly, and Human Rights Council resolutions for accountability, deterring future crimes and violations against innocent civilians. He finally called for urgent action to save the prospects of justice, peace and security. For further details, click here.
