The Human Rights Council voted to form an independent international investigation committee on the Israeli aggression in the Palestinian territories, and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and the 1948 territories. The resolution stipulates the establishment of an international investigation committee to investigate all violations for international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the Occupied Palestinian Territories – including East Jerusalem – identifying the underlying causes of the current tensions and causes of conflict, including discrimination and oppression on the basis of religious and ethnic identity, making a recommendation to end impunity for such crimes, and providing redress for the victims.
