Researcher Mustafa Bektash wrote a paper entitled “Possible Results of the Relocation of US Embassy to Jerusalem Case,” in which he considered that the Palestinian question is one of the most significant international issues that have been addressed in various forums. The researcher mentioned that when the US embassy in Israel relocated to Jerusalem, Palestine filed a lawsuit against the US on September 30, 2018, before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The paper examined several questions, including: Does the court have jurisdiction in this case? Can Palestine align with the court? What are the Palestinian claims? In the final analysis, he examined the possible consequences of relocating the embassy to Jerusalem and analyzed whether the case before the court would remain symbolic in terms of both Palestinian and international law, or whether it would have tangible effects.
