In the paper prepared by Emile Badarin, the researcher at the College of Europe, and published by the Foreign Policy Analysis – Oxford Academic, the author addresses the fact that the concept of recognition in international law is a political concept in essence before it became a legal one.
The article discusses recognition policies in the contexts of disputed states and regional conflicts, by taking Sweden’s recognition of the Palestinian state in October 2014 as a case study.
