Kali Robinson, a researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations, has published a study entitled “What Is U.S. Policy on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?”
The study dealt with the interests of the United States in the Palestinian issue, and how it became involved in it and discussed the position of the United States regarding the Palestinian state, Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, American aid to Israel and the Palestinians, and the US vision of resolving the conflict.
The writer believes that the United States had long attempted to mediate to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but several factors, including deep divisions between and within the parties and declining US interest in playing the role of honest broker, had hurt the chances of a peace agreement.
