The official spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory and that the statements of Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, through which he gave the right to American citizens born in Jerusalem to use the word Israel in their passports, are completely rejected and constitute a flagrant violation of international laws and international legitimacy.  Abu Rudeineh emphasized that East Jerusalem, with its Islamic and Christian holy sites, is a red line, and it is the essence of security and stability in the entire region.
