Adalah sent a letter to the attorney general of the Occupation Government and to the Regional Commissioner for Equality in Employment in Israel, after many Arab employees received dismissal notifications for their participation in the “Dignity Strike” approved by the Higher Follow-up Committee for the Arab Masses. Adalah called on the concerned authorities to issue clear directives to the public stating that dismissal from work following participation in the strike is illegal and a criminal offense punishable by law. They also demand to clarify the illegality of discriminating between employees based on their ideologies and political views, to employers and operators and the need to grant them freedom of expression in general, including political opinion.
