Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, said in a press interview about the fate of the deal of the century adopted by US President Donald Trump, that the plan will not constitute a starting point for the new administration in dealing with the file of the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis, as he described the Trump administration’s handling of this file as “a contradiction to the basis on which the peace process was based for decades.”The Secretary-General also stated that “Work must be done vigorously and actively on the implementation of the two-state solution, end the Israeli occupation, the emergence of an independent Palestinian state, and Trump’s vision implied considerable inequality to Palestinian rights and an unprecedented tendency for the right-wing Israeli positions.” Besides, the US actions on the ground were hostile to the Palestinians and their national authority, and gave a clear impression of bias against them, and made it difficult for any Palestinian party to deal positively with the ideas it put forward.
