Al-Haq and the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies published a joint oral intervention delivered in the name of the two organizations at the 45th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council. In their statement, the two organizations condemned Israel’s control of three main sources of natural water supply in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and the discriminatory water distribution measures are taken by Israel, which deprives about 50,000 Palestinians in Area C of access to clean, safe, and affordable water for the benefit of Israeli settlers. The two organizations called on the council and its member states to address the root causes of these violations and Israel’s prolonged occupation and apartheid regime. To check the news, click here.
