Al-Haq has said that it followed what happened in Hebron since May 5, 2020, when the Palestinian security forces attacked the owners of the “stalls” for removing it, using excessive force, and the subsequent detention and arrest of 9 citizens by the judiciary. The Foundation has also addressed the Palestinian Minister of the Interior, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, demanding to open an investigation to determine the merits of these events and to hold accountable those who are involved in committing violations, law enforcement, and justice. The Foundation has also affirmed through the press release that the failure of implementing judicial rulings is a violation of the rule of law, the authority of decisions and judgments issued by the judiciary towards all, which was confirmed by the Palestinian Basic Law amended in 2003. The Foundation has also confirmed that this is a violation of the rights and freedoms guaranteed under international agreements to which the state of Palestine has approved.
