Researcher Alexandra Wilson published a study in the Seton Hall Law Collections titled: “Enforcing Consistency: A Comparative Analysis of Geneva Convention IV Violations in Morroco-Western Sahara and Israel-Palestine.” This paper studies the violations of international humanitarian law during armed conflicts. It analyzes the differences in response when it comes to these violations in different parts of the world; where they will be condemned in some cases and ignored in other instances.

Through a comparative analysis, this paper takes a specific look at Article 49 of Geneva Convention IV and demonstrates how violations are treated differently under different contexts. There is a specific case study focusing on violations carried out by Morocco and Israel during the occupations of Western Sahara and Palestine. This study then puts forth a recommendation that there should be more consistency when it comes to dealing with Geneva Convention violations.
