Amnesty International said that the opening of an investigation by the Prosecutor of the ICC  into crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories is a critical step towards achieving justice after decades of lack of accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The organization emphasized that the investigation provides a real opportunity for thousands of victims of crimes under international law to access justice, as well as a historic opportunity to end the impunity that has led to serious violations in the occupied Palestinian territories for more than half a century.
