In its annual report 2020, Amnesty International condemned the Israeli occupation’s use of excessive force against Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories using coercive measures resulting in the displacement of hundreds of Palestinian families in the Palestinian territories, as well as the demolitions of hundreds of homes, and the killing and arrest of many. The report stated that the occupation forces carried out several kinds of torture and other ill-treatment methods on Palestinian children, and arbitrarily held hundreds of them in administrative detention. Israel also continued to restrict freedom of movement in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, subjecting the population to collective punishment, exacerbating the crises experienced by the Palestinian people.
