The President of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Asoomi condemned the Czech Republic’s opening of an embassy in Jerusalem, saying the decision is a blatant assault on the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, and a flagrant violation of international law and the relevant international resolutions, which all affirmed the City’s historical and legal status, as it is an occupied city. In turn, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its condemnation of the opening of offices for embassies of the Czech Republic and Kosovo in the occupied city of Jerusalem. The General Secretariat confirmed that this illegal procedure constitutes a violation of international law and all relevant United Nations resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 478, which prohibits the establishment of diplomatic missions in the occupied city.
