Authors Harsh Mahaseth and Nirupan Karki publish a study in the Thailand Journal of International Law, titled: “Understanding the Israel-Palestine Issue and its Relation with the International Criminal Court.” Palestine ratified the Rome Statute in hope of holding Israeli officials accountable for the severe violations they had committed against Palestinians. In order to understand these violations, this article explains the history of the Palestine-Israel conflict and focuses on addressing the problems associated with the building of illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Additionally, it sheds light on whether the International Criminal Court(ICC) has jurisdiction over the crimes committed by Israel and further explains the ICC’s role when it comes to ending the conflict.
