The Palestinian Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority (CDA) reported that rainwater leaked into Israeli prisons, and flooded the cells in which prisoners are being held in the “Hawara” detention centre, south of Nablus. CDA said that the administration of the detention centre had taken a long time to evacuate some cells, as detainees’ clothes, blankets and personal belongings were flooded. CDA pointed out that the “Hawara” detention centre is one of the worst centres in terms of treating prisoners or responding to their minimal basic needs, and the occupation authorities are currently using it as COVID-19 quarantine centre. Moreover, CDA stated that the prisoners complain of ill-treatment, lack of blankets, poor food and lack of food. Accordingly, the CDA called on international institutions, especially the Red Cross, to visit them, and reveal the occupation crimes that are being practised against them.
