The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) has expressed its deep concern over the dangerous deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian Territory, including the escalation of violence and acts of provocation and incitement by Israeli extremists in occupied East Jerusalem. The Committee condemned the violence that took place in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. It also expressed concern over the ongoing Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip. CEIRPP called for immediate efforts to calm the situation, and for the Security Council to assume special responsibilities in this regard by working immediately to support its decisions on the issue of Palestine, and to fulfill its duties stipulated in the Charter, in order to save the prospects for a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and lasting peace and security.
