Qassem Awad, Director-General of Documentation and Publishing at the Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission, said that the year 2020 witnessed a remarkable increase in the violations of the Israeli occupation, including “arrests, demolitions, confiscation of lands, and an increase in the number of organized crime led by settler gangs.” Awad described the settlement plans and projects as an unprecedented massacre, especially after the decision to confiscate 2,768 acres to build a nature reserve, and the final approval of building more than 5,000 new units. He added that the occupation authorities are racing against time and intend to approve another 10,000 units that are being discussed for their establishment on the lands of Qalandia Airport, in addition to more than 12,000 units that have been deposited for discussion to obtain final approvals as well.
