Czech Republic PM Andrej Babiš officially opened a diplomatic office to represent his country in Jerusalem, stressing the Czech plan to establish mutual relations with Israel in politics, economic cooperation and consular affairs, among other fields. Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi welcomed the move and noted that Jerusalem has been the spiritual centre of the Jewish nation for more than 3,000 years. He added that Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel since its establishment.
