Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi, called on the European Union to play a greater role in efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue. Marsudi welcomed the ceasefire agreement and said she hopes that all parties will commit to maintaining the appropriate situation. The Indonesian minister stressed the importance of making more efforts in order to prevent the recurrence of violations committed by the Israeli army against the Palestinians, she added: “We must redouble our efforts to solve the core problem, which is the Israeli occupation, through credible negotiations on the basis of the two-state solution.” She continued: “After reaching a ceasefire agreement, we should not wait a few years for violence to recur, and we should start new negotiations for the peace process in the Middle East.” For further details, click here
