The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has concluded the second session of the Palestinian-Irish political consultations, where the Foreign Ministry called on the international community to hold Israel accountable to its responsibilities as an occupying power and comply with the international will and end its occupation in compliance with the decisions of international legitimacy. The Ministry stressed the need to preserve the principle of the two-state solution in accordance with international law. For its part, the Irish Foreign Office affirmed Ireland’s support for President Mahmoud Abbas’s initiative to convene an international peace conference under international sponsorship, stressing its rejection of the settlement policy and the escalating Israeli violations in the Palestinian territories.
