Egypt condemned violence and attacks carried out by extremist Jewish groups, targeting the Palestinians in the Old City of East Jerusalem, resulting in tens of Palestinian civilians being injured. The Egyptian ministry of foreign affairs held Israel fully responsible according to the rules of international law. It, further called to provide necessary protection for Palestinian civilians, halt everything that would infringe upon the right of worshipers to reach al-Aqsa Mosque, and stop targeting the Christian and Islamic Arab identity of Jerusalem and its sanctities, in a manner that would change the current legal and historical status of the city.
