More than a thousand parliamentarians from 25 European countries signed a letter strongly opposing Israel’s plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank. In a letter published in several newspapers and sent to European foreign ministers, 1080 European lawmakers said they “are deeply concerned about the precedent that this will create in international relations.” The letter added that such a step would destroy the prospects of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and threaten the basic standards that manage international relations, including the United Nations Charter.
