Israel Prison Service (IPS) announces that it will allow Palestinian prisoners to make a single phone call with their families for five minutes during Ramadan, following a petition filed by Center for the Defense of the Individual “HaMoked” and seven more human rights organizations. Meanwhile, IPS forbids prisoners from the Gaza Strip who are classified as members of the Hamas Movement from this decision. Furthermore, the Israeli government forbade the families of Gaza’s prisoners from visiting them. The petition appealed to allow the “security prisoners” to call their families on a regular basis.
