The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning Israel’s initiation of building 1936 new settlement units. In a statement, the Ministry said that “these decisions come at a troubling time of accelerated settlement on the West Bank and in East Jerusalem.”
The statement reaffirmed France’s stance that: “Settlements in all forms are illegal under international law, and specifically UN Security Council Resolution 2334.”
The statement concluded by calling on “the Israeli authorities to renounce these projects and all those that undermine the two-state solution.”
