Dozens of professors at the prestigious Harvard University condemned Israel for practicing the policies of apartheid, and called on the American administration to immediately stop providing support for these policies, declaring their solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for their freedom and the right to self-determination. They said in their statement: “As Harvard University professors in the United States of America, we oppose racism and colonial violence in all its forms, Israel’s violent measures have destroyed Palestinian lives through war, land theft and displacement.” The statement considered that the steadfast financial, military and political support of the United States for Israel led to the feeding of the apartheid regime, which institutionalized the policies of domination and oppression of the Palestinians. The professors continued in their statement, the expulsion of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, violence in Israeli cities, and the military assault on the Gaza Strip, all of which are official operations to expropriate Palestinians from property as part of a decades-old policy. The statement criticized the academic criticism of violations of Palestinian rights as anti-Semitic. For further details, click here
