Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies has issued a joint statement on behalf of 114 institutions from around the world and sent it to the UN member states. The strong-worded statement has stressed the necessity of the current and immediate action in order to stop Israel from continuing racist policies and establishing an apartheid regime against the Palestinians, whether they are inside or behind the Green Line or refugees. The statement was made at the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council, which discussed racial discrimination and xenophobia. The statement has called on all UN member states to follow South Africa and Namibia’s lead and to take a courageous stand against Israeli apartheid imposed on the Palestinian people as a whole and to work to bring this injustice to an end.
