The head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs in Palestine, Hussein al-Sheikh, stressed that the annexation decision means the return of the occupation to assume its responsibilities as an occupying power of the Palestinian land, explaining that the existence of the authority is a prelude to the establishment of the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that the Palestinian leadership has taken its decision that annexing any part of the Palestinian territories means that things will return to before the existence of the Palestinian National Authority.
