The Irish Foreign Minister, Simon Coveney, announced additional humanitarian funding of €1 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Coveney confirmed that the funding will help support UNRWA’s valuable work in addressing the humanitarian and development needs of 5.7 million Palestine refugees, providing emergency assistance across UNRWA’s five fields of operation, adding that the new funding raises the total Irish aid to UNRWA for the current year to 8 million euros.
