Israa University concluded its international scientific conference entitled “Palestine and the Justice of the International Criminal Court in Light of Prosecution and Equity.” The conference hosted by the university under the auspices and supervision of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. The University of Israa organized and hosted the conference online over the two days 17-18 of January 2021, in partnership with the University of Carthage – Tunisia, the University of Jinan – Lebanon, and the Interdisciplinary Moroccan Center for Strategic and International Studies (CMIESI). According to its organizers, the conference aimed to shed light on the violations and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinians, to clarify the legal and procedural system of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and to explain the competence of the court’s public prosecutor and the competence of its various departments. Furthermore, it aimed to elucidate the mechanisms for prosecuting criminals of the Israeli occupation authorities before the ICC and identifying the procedural problems that may hinder the prosecution of the accused from the occupation authorities before the International Criminal Court.
