The Israeli army decided to open an investigation into an incident in which Israeli soldiers were suspected of placing explosive devices in a Palestinian village in the West Bank. According to news reports, soldiers from the Nahal Brigade planted three explosive devices near a road on the outskirts of KafrQaddum, where regular Palestinian demonstrations against the Israeli military rule are taking place. According to reports, the soldiers concealed the IEDs using stones, materials, and ammunition boxes, leaving them ready to detonate as soon as they were touched. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the IDF’s Criminal Investigation Unit opened an investigation into the incident on the last day of August, on the orders of the Military Advocate General, Sharon Afek.
