The Israeli Local Affairs Court in Jerusalem has decided to freeze the decision to demolish the homes of Palestinians living in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem for a period of six months. Israel had ordered the demolition of about 100 homes in the Silwan neighborhood on the outskirts of the Old City of Jerusalem, stressing that they were built illegally on public property. Judge Segal Albo noted that he had “concluded that there was some room for respite”.
