Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, declared during a phone call with Riad al-Malki, the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, that Japan is providing 10 million US$ as an urgent humanitarian aid to meet the urgent and emergency needs caused by the last aggression on Gaza, as well as COVID-19. He also added that Japan is ready to provide more aid for reconstruction, once the national authority begins with these arrangements. He reaffirmed Japan’s support for a two-state solution, and its readiness to continue its diplomatic endeavors in order to restore faith that will allow for the return to negotiations. He stressed Japan’s commitment to work for peace and prosperity among the four countries; Palestine, Israel, Jordan, and Japan, to complete this important and vital project. He also stressed that Japan administration is still working on the Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) to build the capacities of the government and the Palestinian institutions with the involvement of many East Asian Countries.
