On this day in 1967, the General Assembly adopted resolution (2253), in which it called upon Israel to rescind all measures that had been taken and to refrain immediately from any action that might alter the status of Jerusalem.
On the same day in 1982, the UNSC adopted resolution 513, expressing its dismay at the continuing suffering of the Lebanese and Palestinian civilian populations in southern Lebanon and western Beirut.
