On this day in 1956, the UN Security Council issued Resolution No. (114) announcing that the parties of the armistice agreements must expedite the implementation of the measures agreed upon with the Secretary-General, and cooperate with the latter and the Chief Observer of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in Palestine; to elaborate their practical proposals, pursuant to Resolution 113 (1956), with the intention of fully implementing the aforementioned decision and in full compliance with the armistice agreements.
