Law for Palestine and Boğaziçi University Host Roundtable in Istanbul to Discuss ICJ Advisory Opinion on Israeli Occupation
2 August 2024 | On the sidelines of the “Rethinking International Law After Gaza” conference held in Istanbul last month, Law for Palestine and the Faculty of Law at Boğaziçi University were pleased to host a roundtable discussion with leading experts on the recent International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on the Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, which was delivered on July 19, 2024.
The discussion, featuring prominent international lawyers and scholars, provided a valuable platform to analyse the court’s opinion, examine the root causes of the prolonged Israeli occupation, and explore the role of international law in enforcing accountability.
