The Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, said that Israel’s intention to build more than 8,000 new housing units in settlements located in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is a grave violation of international law and should be opposed by the international community in concrete ways. He also added that the violations increase the severity of the already bad situation in the occupied territories.
