The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Ramallah condemned the arrest of the governor of Jerusalem city, Adnan Ghaith, by the occupation forces and its police.
The ministry considered the arrest of the Jerusalem governor in these particular circumstances is an extension of the procedures and measures of the occupation aimed at obstructing the official and popular Palestinian efforts made in the face of the Corona pandemic, and this is an arbitrary arrest targeting Palestinian people in occupied Jerusalem.
Besides, it is a continuous arbitrary arrest targeting the Palestinian people in occupied Jerusalem, and it is a continuation of the processes of Judaization, annexation, and emptying of its indigenous citizens in a continuous process of ethnic cleansing. The ministry called on the relevant UN bodies, headed by the International Red Cross and the state parties to the Geneva Conventions and the Human Rights Council, to urgently act to press on the occupation authorities to release Adnan Ghaith.
