Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on the international community to place the Palestinian issue on the agenda of the world’s priorities through a serious and real political project that ends the occupation, whose reference is the international law and within multiple international frameworks. This came during his meeting with the Australian representative to the State of Palestine, Mark Pelley, at the prime minister’s headquarters in Ramallah, and the Permanent Representative of the UK to the UN, Barbara Woodward, through “video conference”, where he briefed them on political developments. Shtayyeh said that what is required of the world is to break the status quo imposed by Israel by recognizing the state of Palestine on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, to confront Israel’s continuing systematic destruction of the two-state solution through settlements, confiscation of lands and other violations of international law and UN resolutions. Shtayyeh said, “It is important to preserve the two-state solution despite everything that has befallen it during the recent period, and to draw lessons from the challenges that the issue has gone through during the existence of the current US administration.” To check the news, click here
