The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs “OCHA” stated that the demolition of Palestinian homes by the Israeli authorities represented the highest average rate of demolitions in four years during the past five months. Whereas, the demolition policy has continued despite the announcement of the Israeli authorities in the early stages of the “Covid-19” pandemic to restrict their long-term policies of demolishing Palestinian homes. In his letter, Jimmy McGoldrick, the Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, called for “an end to illegal demolitions,” especially in light of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic. He said that the Israeli authorities’ policy of demolishing Palestinian-owned buildings continued even during the outbreak of the pandemic. As a result, many Palestinians have become homeless, and many have lost access to services and their livelihoods. To check the news, click here.
