The State of Palestine expressed concern over statements issued by some member states of the International Criminal Court (ICC), notably by the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement contradicts the decision by the ICC’s Pre-Trial Chamber concerning its territorial jurisdiction over Palestinian territories. The state of Palestine considered such statements an attempt to politicize the work of the ICC, in a form of unacceptable pressure to interfere with the achievement of justice and accountability.
