The Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, expressed the State of Palestine’s regret at the UN’s failure to include Israel on the black list of violators of children’s rights in times of armed conflict, and considered it a moral and legal failure of the United Nations. Mansour said that Palestinian children face a myriad of dangers and grave violations by Israel, as evidenced by the successive reports of the Secretary-General, including killing, maiming, detaining, arresting, and attacking schools and hospitals, and the denial of humanitarian access, all of which warrant the blacklisting of Israel. it would have been a first step towards creating a remedial action plan and achieving accountability and justice for Palestinian children that are victims of violence and systematic Israeli violations.
