Ali al-Qadi, President of the Union of Palestinian Communities in Europe, said that a unified letter was delivered today to the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the European Union countries, signed with the names of all Palestinian communities in those countries, and that was of great concern from the Israeli annexation plans. They mentioned in this letter that the annexation plan threatens the future of an independent, sovereign state of Palestine and there is no debate that forced appropriation of land through the use of force or annexation is illegal under international law and prohibited by Article 2 (4) of the Charter of the United Nations.
The signatories of the letter requested that the United Nations assume its responsibility to protect international law and international legitimacy and its multiple decisions, including Security Council Resolution 242, United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194, and Security Council Resolution 2334.
