During the second round of Arab-Japanese cooperation and political dialogue, Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFAE), Riyad al-Maliki, called on the government of Japan to recognize the state of Palestine on the borders of 1967, which reserves the right of Palestinians to self-determination that contributes to saving the two-state solution; in line with Japan’s stances in supporting the Palestinian cause in international forums. Al-Maliki called upon the international community to command pressure on Israel, to corce the latter into abiding by its dual agreements, and not to deprive the Palestinian people from exercising their democratic right in the upcoming legislative and presidential elections, including the right to run and vote for Palestinian citizens of occupied East Jerusalem.
