Palestinian Health Minister, Mai al-Kaila, condemned the Israeli occupation detention of the Director-General of the Health Work Committees institution, Shatha Odeh. Al-Kaila added that the detention followed a series of detentions and closures of the institution by the occupation and an intervention from all international humanitarian, human rights and health organizations are required in order for the institution to complete its tasks in providing health services to the Palestinian people. For its part, the The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs has denounced the detention of Odeh, from her house at Ein Musbah neighborhood in Ramallah at dawn. The Commission stated that the Israeli occupation forces had stormed the headquarter of the Health Work Committees institution last month and pointed out that the occupation authorities have been targeting this institution since its establishment, where many of its employees have been arrested and detained for long periods in occupation prisons.
